Charles Campbell is a nature photographer, author and video producer. His photographs are used world-wide for advertising and editorial placements including books, magazines, multimedia, television, billboards, and calendars. His fine art images are collected by enthusiasts from all over the world and are part of many private and corporate collections.

In addition to his award-winning photography, Charles has experienced a life of adventure. He has participated in 13 international mountaineering expeditions and was a mountain guide on North America's highest peak, Mt. McKinley. He was a wilderness survival instructor for Outward Bound School.For many years, he was a certified, professional ski instructor in the Colorado Rockies.

One of his most daring adventures involved a solo run of the Grand Canyon in a single punishing day (South Rim to North Rim, round-trip). He also completed a 5-day, 150 mile solo endurance run from Death Valley to the summit of Mt. Whitney, California.

In 1982, Charles was to have a life-altering experience while climbing Alaska's 19,008 ft high, Mt. St Elias. A massive snow avalanche broke loose from the glaciated slopes high overhead. A harrowing high- speed getaway ensued as Charles attempted to outrun it on his skis. Buried under 3 feet of snow and ice, his climbing companions dug him out and resuscitated his lifeless body. Buried alive, without any oxygen for more than 20 minutes, he survived by the narrowest of margins when his body went into a deep hypothermic state. The experience led to a period of deep introspection. He decided to leave an ungratifying career in sales in order to lead the life of a creative artist.
